Australia’s largest and most comprehensive livestock classifieds launched

Elders has launched Australia’s largest and most comprehensive livestock classifieds service on its website; providing producers with a cost-effective and efficient way to buy and sell livestock, 24 hours a day.

This means producers are able to search for stock wanted and stock for sale, whether they’re looking for sheep, beef or dairy cattle and set up daily email alerts for when new stock that suit their requirements are added .

Elders National Livestock Manager Chris Howie says that the widest exposure in the shortest period of time is important during a hard season and the Elders livestock classifieds helps to match supply with demand, in an easy, cost effective and interactive way.

“The Elders livestock classifieds is the largest of its type in Australia by volume, with wanted listings of 13,200 sheep and 4,200 beef cattle and for sale listings of 34,800 sheep and 13,350 beef cattle added by Elders branches in the last three weeks,” Mr Howie said.

The new platform also has listings for dairy cattle and can be used for other species and an additional feature is the sales calendar which lists weekly, store, stud and clearing sales,” he said

“We all know the livestock market is tough at the moment so it’s important that as an industry we look for ways to move with the times and adapt to changing conditions; utilising new technology is one way to achieve this,” he said.

“Livestock is a national business and the new classifieds system provides another way for livestock producers to access the extensive Elders network of branches and their access to livestock. Use of smart phones and computers is part of every day business for the industry now, so it is a natural progression

“The launch of the new classifieds system is a reflection of the continued investment we’ve made in our livestock and wool businesses in recent times; including the ongoing development of our livestock and wool trainee program with great success,” he said.

Key features of the Elders livestock classifieds system include the ability to:

–          add photos and videos;

–          search for stock wanted and stock for sale (eg by location or breed);

–          add important sales to the calendar function;

–          list clearing sales;

–          save searches;

–          receive daily email alerts; and

–          use on a smart phone or tablet

Producers using Elders as their agent can list livestock for sale, stock wanted, clearing sales and other sales calendar online by contacting their local Elders branch.
