Bairnsdale’s Noel Jansz named Elders employee of the year
Bairnsdale agronomist Noel Jansz has been named Elders’ “Thomas Elder Employee of the Year” award winner for 2014.
Awarded for his focus on clients and innovation as well as a 40 per cent growth in earnings, Mr Jansz was recognised as the highest performing employee across the company, at a recent awards ceremony in Adelaide.
Mr Jansz said it was a great honour to win the award knowing there are hundreds of Elders employees also going above and beyond in their role every day.
“I like what I do, where I live and the people I work with, and when you have a good team around you, going above and beyond it doesn’t seem like a big deal, just part of the job,” Mr Jansz said.
“I have a desire to learn more about the industry I work in, help the industry grow and ensure farmers are rewarded for their efforts,” he said.
Mr Jansz has taken a proactive approach to building the agronomy profile in Bairnsdale and his strong customer focus has had a significant impact on Bairnsdale’s bottom line.
As an Ausveg rising star and a national finalist in the 2014 ALPA and Fairfax Agricultural Media Marketing Award, Mr Jansz has been widely recognised for his innovative projects and industry promotions with celebrity chef Geoff Jansz.
Elders chief executive officer, Mark Allison said as a truly dedicated employee and a strong leader for Australia’s horticulture industry, Mr Jansz is a deserving winner of the award.
“Each year the Thomas Elder Award recognises an individual who is consistently a high performer, who demonstrates a commitment to safety and lives the Elders values,” Mr Allison said.
“Not only is Noel contributing to the success of his team at Elders Bairnsdale, but he is a clear leader within Australia’s horticulture industry, and creating real value for producers” he said.
Mr Jansz is planning to use his $10,000 study tour prize to visit horticultural areas within the United States or Europe.
