Beef Week locked in again for Elders in 2018
Elders will return as Major Supporting Sponsor of Beef Australia 2018 (Beef18), the 11th triennial beef exposition and Australia’s largest cattle industry event. Taking place in Rockhampton, Queensland from 6-12 May 2018, Beef18 is a celebration of the Australian beef industry, showcasing the people, practices and products that have built it.
Next year’s event will have a major research and development focus, providing a conduit for information between producers and research bodies to help drive productivity and growth. As usual there will be a wide range of attractions, including cattle competitions, seminars, entertainment, and a large international presence from international industry representatives.
Elders is committed to the beef industry and have partnered with Beef18 to assist in developing a stronger, more sustainable and more profitable industry for the future, as it faces pressure and changing dynamics driven by international demand and technological advances.
The Elders Red Notebook app, which already provides a number of on-farm features and livestock tools, will launch a Beef18 function containing useful information for attendees; including a site map, event listings, event reminders, product offers and competitions.
Elders’ national livestock manager Chris Howie, says that Beef18 will be one of the biggest events of the year for the Company’s livestock and retail teams.
“Just like Elders is huge part of Australian agriculture, Beef Week is an integral part of the industry and an event that we fully get behind,” says Mr Howie.
“The theme this year, taking Beef into the future, has real relevance to all areas of our business – there’s a lot of history there but we are very forward-focused in terms of our goals for the livestock business and the growth of the beef industry,” he says.
“Our industry is continually changing, so using years of experience combined with technology and innovation to provide next generation solutions is of prime importance,” he says.
“Productivity more than ever will be in the spotlight this year as our clients face more demands from international and domestic markets,” he says.
Elders are giving away two tickets to Beef18 including return flights to Rockhampton, 2 nights’ accommodation, 2 x VIP tickets to the exclusive Elders cocktail party, and spending money.
