Elders and Kerr & Co Livestock enter agreement
National agribusiness, Elders is expanding its agency footprint in Victoria. The Company has announced it has entered into an agreement to merge operations with Kerr & Co Livestock, based in Hamilton.
Established in 1983 by Michael Kerr, Kerr & Co Livestock is currently the largest privately owned independent livestock business in the region. The transaction will enable Kerr & Co to continue to grow their presence and offering to clients.
Kerr & Co Livestock Principal, Michael Kerr says the team is pleased with the outcome and will continue to operate under the Kerr & Co brand for the foreseeable future.
The transaction is in line with Elders’ Eight Point Plan, targeting areas for growth in the Agency business and increasing the Company’s national footprint.
Malcolm Hunt, Elders Zone General Manager – South, says it is a very exciting time in the region.
“The agreement signifies two wonderful companies coming together. Both Elders and Kerr & Co are leaders in livestock. Although the teams will remain separate and trade under individual brands, we welcome the Kerr & Co team to Elders – their business is a good cultural fit for us and will assist to increase our footprint and client base in Victoria,” Mr Hunt said.
