Malcolm Hunt returns to Elders
Elders has welcomed Malcolm Hunt back to the business as Zone General Manager – South, who commenced in the role on 21 September.
Malcolm previously worked with Elders in senior management roles in the Victorian-Riverina region, South Australia and Northern Territory from 1998 to 2004 and more recently was General Manager of Rodwells.
Elders Group General Manager Australian Network, David Goodfellow says Malcolm joins the business at an exciting time.
“We’re making real progress on our turnaround journey and as we concentrate our activities on our rural services business, Malcolm’s experience will be extremely valued,” Mr Goodfellow said.
“Malcolm is highly regarded throughout the industry for his leadership talent and his understanding of client values,” he said.
“Malcolm’s return represents that Elders is again heading in the right direction; we’re making significant investments in recruiting and training people so we’re best able to meet our client’s needs.”
Zone General Manager – South, Malcolm Hunt says he’s pleased to be back in the Pink Shirt.
“I’m looking forward to working with staff in Elders’ southern branches and meeting with our clients and my focus will be on communicating a clear strategy for the southern zone, particularly on training staff,” Mr Hunt said.
“My aim is to ensure that our younger staff in particular have the best technical skills but also a desire to build strong relationships with our clients – on farm and in the branch,” he said.
“I recognise a lot of familiar faces here at Elders, but also lots of new ones so it’s great to know we’ve got a mix of experience and fresh ideas to carry us into the future. I’ve been delighted to see the renewed momentum in Elders at the moment, since David has joined.”
Malcolm will be responsible for staff and sales across approximately 100 branches in South Australia, Victoria, southern New South Wales, Tasmania and Alice Springs.
He replaces Shane Chisholm who is now Elders’ General Manager – Farm Supplies.
