2021 Rockhampton Brahman Week wrap-up
After a flurry of bidders and bulls across three days in northern Queensland, the 2021 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale has concluded in over $11.7 million traded for some of the best beef genetics in the country.
Held at the premium CQLX Selling Centre in Gracemere, the sale commenced with 266 Grey Brahman bulls placed under the auctioneers hammer for day one, selling to an average of $13,446. Lot 204 Ahern Brock 915/0 from Ahern Stud, Gayndah, reached a top price of $140,000 selling to the Brownson family, Charters Towers.

Day two included over 300 Grey and Red Brahman bulls achieving a 100 per cent clearance thanks to an eager crowd of buyers from across northern Australia. Grey bulls sold to an average of $13,460 with Lot 327 Carinya Sugarcrata sold to the sale top of $150,000. Red bulls were popular for buyers, with an outstanding average of $20,455 and a top price of $100,000 for Lots 547 and 779.
This was in contrast to the market conditions only 12 months ago, where the previous Rockhampton Brahman Week sale average was $12,406 with a gross total of $9.6m and a sale record top price reaching $210,000.
The final day saw another 250 Red Brahman bulls presented to enthusiastic bidders who secured over 99 per cent of the lots on offer to an average of $13,919. The top priced Lot 861, offered by RJ Radel Co, was purchased by Ewedale Grazing for $100,000.
