Broome’s Kelvin Hancey takes out the 2015 Elders Annual Performance Award

Broome’s Livestock manager Kelvin Hancey has been named as Elders’ Annual Performance Award winner for 2015.

Recognised for his high levels of service and dedication to his clients, Elders chief executive officer Mark Allison said Mr Hancey was an extremely deserving winner of the national award.

“Kelvin consistently achieves above and beyond for his clients and for Elders, and is well-respected across the Elders business for his development of junior team members,” Mr Allison said.

Taking out the award for his customer-focused approach to business, Mr Hancey attributes his success to a focus on always delivering what he offers.

“People look for consistency so I need to be available all of the time, and up to date with my information to make sure I can deliver what I promise,” Mr Hancey said.

“The main thing that drives me is the feeling of satisfaction when everything comes together and my clients are successful. That’s the most important thing because they’re our backbone,” he said.

Soon to celebrate his 35th year with Elders, Mr Hancey was instrumental in facilitating the sale of more than 20,000 cattle in one month, as well as the sale of a 1 million acre property in the Kimberley.

Although unable to make the awards ceremony, Mr Hancey’s response to winning the award was characteristically down to earth, asking to pass on his thanks and shout everyone a beer on his behalf.

He plans to celebrate his award taking a well-earned break south of Perth.
