Elders – Rural Bank provide banking solutions for your farm business
Coming into spring, it’s the ideal time to review your farm business and plan for the coming season.
Following a year in which many commodities experienced exceptional sales results, growers are now looking ahead to building on their success – with financial goals, business growth and strategies.
Through our relationship with Rural Bank, Elders offers tailored banking solutions for your farm business. Through dedicated relationship managers located across Australia, we can assist with financing expansion of your farm business, improvement of your property, and by providing operational and seasonal finance.
Jess Seaver is one of those agribusiness relationship managers. Jess moved to Elders Mildura in early 2020, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from six years in a Rural Bank office. Servicing clients in the Riverland, Victorian Mallee, and lower western New South Wales, Jess hasn’t looked back since her move.
It’s clear that Jess’ enjoyment is a result of her clients’ success. She notes that after, “having had three, or more, very poor seasons in the area, we’ve finally seen a shift in the seasons where we’ve had good winter rains, which mean happy crops and stock, and therefore happier farmers. I am really excited to see how this season pans out.”
Jess highlights her time spent on-farm with her clients as a vital part of her role – giving her a better insight into opportunities and challenges, unique to each client. A typical day for Jess involves, “half the day on the road visiting my clients, having a cuppa and talking about life, farming, things ahead, and having a look at the country, livestock and the crops.”
For Jess, her role is about more than short-term banking solutions. She values the importance of inter-generational engagement and planning.
“The best thing about my role is being able to help long term farming families through thick and thin … getting to know the generations [operating family farming businesses], beyond just meeting their day-to-day banking needs.”
Jess’ clients have embraced her as an asset to their businesses. They’ve been impressed by her efficiency with some saying, “You get done what I need, you listen to our situation and act on it”, “[Jess] understands us”, “you love what you do”.
In addition to on-farm services, Rural Bank customers have the option to transact at their local Elders branch. Jess works closely with Elders branches located in Wentworth, Pooncarie, Ivanhoe, Ouyen, Werrimull, Pinnaroo, Keith, and the Riverland to ensure the day-to-day banking needs of customers are met. This working partnership with the Elders network also enables Jess to give deep consideration to customers’ business requirements and opportunities.
Jess is very happy to have made the move to Elders Mildura, explaining that, “I really enjoy being surrounded with like-minded people where I get to immerse myself in the practical side of farm merchandise, livestock and agronomy.”
With a big spring ahead, now is a great time to reach out to Jess to have a chat about how she can help your business.
