Elders sets up shop in Beverley

Farmers in the Beverley area in Western Australia will be able to access the full offering of Elders products and services after the company purchased the farm supplies business, owned and operated by its long serving livestock agent Colin Willie.

Elders Zone General Manager in the West, James Cornish said the move represents an investment by the company in the region.

“Elders has a strong presence throughout the wheatbelt and the addition of a branch at Beverley will see farmers able to access agronomic and animal health advice as well as real estate, banking and financial services at the nearby Northam branch,” James said.

“Colin has been an Elders livestock agent for 20 years and has been a valued part of the team and we wish him well in his retirement,” he said.

“We’re also looking forward to welcoming current staff members, Sheryl Paskov and Fran Owens, to the Elders team and we’ve appointed Noel Morton as Territory Sales Manager who will work with Colin over the next 12 months to ensure a smooth transition for clients.”

Elders’ purchase of the Beverley store comes at a time when the company is making progress on its turnaround journey and concentrating on its rural services business.

“We’re making significant investments in recruiting and training people so we’re best able to meet our client’s needs,” James said.

“There’s a renewed momentum around Elders at the moment and having Beverley as part of the team adds to that and we’re always on the look out for opportunities to grow our business,” he said
