One Elders Awards – April Winners

The One Elders Awards program recognises and rewards employees and teams whose performance and safety outcomes significantly contribute to business results, and demonstrate our values-based culture. Each month Elder’ recognises a high achiever in the area of sales, operations and safety who has exhibited our values of integrity, customer focus, accountability, team work, and innovation.

Peter Dinsdale, Michael Longford and Karen Weymouth are the winners of the One Elders April awards for demonstrating exceptional performance across sales, operations and safety.

In Safety, this month’s award recognised Michael Longford, Territory Sales Manager in Bunbury. With an inherently dangerous job dealing with unpredictable livestock every day, Michael took the extra step to help prevent snake bites amongst his colleagues. Michael initiated training for his team and sourced snake bite compression bandages – potentially life-saving tools – to be kept in the cars of all territory sales managers.

Of his award, Michael says he was grateful to be recognised amongst his peers for an action motivated only by a desire to improve safety standards in his workplace.

“Safety plays a major part in all of our everyday activities, especially when you’re out on the road visiting clients, mostly in areas which are lightly populated or totally isolated,” says Michael.

“Snakes are everywhere in the south-west of Western Australia, especially the deadly tiger snake – we all have stories of those near misses or sightings. The more relevant equipment we can have in our first aid kits the better off we are to potentially save ourselves or someone else,” he says.

“These bandages are potentially life-saving and have now been ordered for all out vehicles – better to be safe than sorry!”

Operational Performance

Peter Dinsdale, Senior Real Estate Admin Support Officer, is described as an icon of our Melbourne office having been with Elders for 34 years and has been awarded the One Elders Operational Performance Award. Peter provides invaluable support to the Victorian/Riverina network whilst also managing all administrative services for the Melbourne based real estate division, and supporting the national property management network.

Peter’s extensive experience within the business, proactive attitude towards problem solving, and passion for providing superior service make him an important asset. Having seen many changes during his time with Elders, Peter says he continues to be motivated by change, daily challenges and the people he works with every day.

“The biggest change I have witnessed in real estate over my 34 years is the continual change in technology and the efficiencies that are created as a result of it,” says Peter.

“These changes keep me motivated – I enjoy the day to day challenges, knowing that I am assisting people, and working alongside excellent colleagues directly in Melbourne and across the network.”

Sales Performance

Agri Finance Manager based in Griffith, Karen Weymouth, has been recognised with the One Elders Sales award for her outstanding ability to build strong relationships with clients by always delivering to her word and staying true to her values.

Karen has an admirable aptitude for balancing a multitude of complex tasks and objectives at once, this means that she can always secure the best outcome for her clients regardless of what product or service they need across the wide Elders offering.

“I really focus on what the client wants and needs. It’s important for me to be receptive to my clients, listen to them, and be able to add value to their operation through my recommendations,” says Karen.

“Staying accessible is also vital. My Agri Finance Officer Kate Raccanello is an enormous support for me in this way as she can assist me to stay on top of the back end work while I am out and about.”
