Rex Bennett commended for team effort
Well-known Wangaratta district wool manager, Rex Bennett has been recognised with the monthly One Elders Award for operational performance following his commitment to ensuring that a replacement district wool manager to fill a space in-branch was the best fit for his clients and team.
Mr Bennett drew on all resources available to assist the branch and area manager, quickly phoning all potential candidates in the area to advise of the vacancy, keeping them informed and ensuring transparency across the process. He then set up meetings to speak with each of them about the culture within the business and the team environment they could potentially work with.
Recruitment of the new district wool manager was in conjunction with continuing to provide a high level of service to his client portfolio.
Mr Bennett says the most important action when the position become available was to notify clients and ensure they were aware Elders were urgently replacing the role so there was as little uncertainty as possible.
“Patrick Garraway is now up and running well in the position based at our Holbrook branch. He is well supported in the role and has the tools available to become an exceptional district wool manager,” says Mr Bennett.
“A smooth transition has provided client confidence and reinforced the fact that we aren’t taking any of their business for granted.”
Elders Area Manager, Lachlan Boyd says the actions Rex took to assist in finding a replacement district wool manager demonstrated his passion for his role, and for Elders.
“Rex went above and beyond to ensure there was little to no disruption to clients during the process and kept them informed every step of the way,” Mr Boyd says.
“I’m pleased Rex received recognition for his efforts during this process, it is very well deserved and our wool team is now stronger than ever within the area.”
Mr Bennett will be invited to attend the annual One Elders awards night in December with the opportunity to win the overall operational performance award for 2017.
