Summer Cropping

Through technical demonstration sites the Elders Agronomy team present technical information from the latest research, extension and industry programs.

Summer crops are mainly cereal crops such as grain sorghum and maize. Rice and cotton are also considered a summer crops. Grain sorghum being the main summer cereal crop is mainly used as stock feed in the cattle, pig and poultry industries. Sorghum stubble can also be utilised after harvest as stock fodder.
